In a report conducted for the upcoming UN climate conference in Paris, the World Bank predicts that unless more is done to create “climate smart” developments and contain greenhouse gas emissions, more than 100 million people will be pushed into poverty by 2030. The World Bank says at risk populations will be susceptible to climate change related crop losses, inconsistent rainfall, and an increase in diseases related to extreme heat. The report says that people in South Asia and Africa are most likely to be impacted by the potential hardship.
